The blast of wind blowing the water up into the air,
あかものすそぞ ぬれひじし/Akamo no suso zo nurehijishi
My red clothes get soaked
やみしわれは すでにいえて/Yamishi ware wa sude ni iete
I have already been recovered from illness
はまべのまさご まなごいまは/Hamabe no masago manago ima wa
Looking at the sand of the seashore, I recall my dear child.

The lyrics were written by Kokei Hayashi, Japanese poet and lyricist. They are written in 1913, remembering his experience that he stayed in hospital. The writer is missing his home town, and worried about his family and children. The lyrics are mostly based on the old usage of Japanese.
朝、浜辺を散歩すれば
昔のことを思い出す
風の音や雲の様子
寄ってくる波も貝の色も
夕方、浜辺を徘徊していると
昔の仲間を思い出す
寄せては返す波も
月の色や星の影と一緒に
はげしい風が、波を吹き上げ
赤い着物のすそは 濡れてしまった
私の病気は なおってきたが
浜辺の砂、いや,私の子ども(愛しい子)はどうしているのだろうか
